Based on the complex novel by David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas is a film that will leave no one indifferent, combining with great precision stories that occur in the past, present and future and that gradually become more closely related.

The film is directed by a luxury team formed by the Wachowsky brothers and Tom Tykwer. The first ones already revolutionized the world of Science Fiction with the mythical Matrix and now they seem willing to do the same with a very dense and sometimes slightly complicated work but which does not spare a single second of duration. This is not a film that you can watch without paying much attention, but to fully understand the whole story that we have to narrate it will be necessary to concentrate all the senses during the 172 minutes of duration. At the end of July, many were astonished by the release of the first trailer for ‘Cloud Atlas’ (Cloud Atlas, 2012), the new film by the Wachowski brothers and Tom Tykwer. Today the news is the appearance of the final trailer and a new poster of this spectacular film that is among the most anticipated titles of what is still to come throughout this 2012.

One of the most striking things about ‘Cloud Atlas’ is its extensive cast, in which we find a multitude of familiar Hollywood faces like Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Hugh Grant, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, Bae Doona, Keith David, Jim Broadbent and James D’Arcy. Enough so that many of us were already attentive to the film when it had not even started shooting, when little else was known at the time apart from the fact that it was based on a novel by David Mitchell published in 2004 and which won several literary awards at the time. The plot of the film revolved around six stories set in the past, present and future and how the actions of each affected the rest.

El atlas de las nubes es una película épica de ciencia ficción de 2012 escrita y dirigida por los Wachowski y Tom Tykwer[7]. Basada en la novela homónima de 2004 de David Mitchell, la película tiene múltiples tramas que ocurren durante seis épocas diferentes en el tiempo, con el reparto actuando en diferentes papeles.

La película fue producida por Grant Hill y Stefan Arndt, además de los Wachowski y Tykwer. Durante sus cuatro años de desarrollo, el proyecto tuvo algunas dificultades para conseguir apoyo financiero. Sin embargo, la película se produjo finalmente con un presupuesto de entre 100 y 146,7 millones de dólares aportados por fuentes independientes, lo que la convierte en una de las películas independientes más caras jamás producidas. [10] [11] [12] Fue nominada al Globo de Oro a la mejor partitura original para Tykwer (que coescribió la película), Johnny Klimek y Reinhold Heil[13] Recibió varias nominaciones en los Saturn Awards, entre ellas la de mejor película de ciencia ficción, que fue a parar a Los Vengadores, y ganó en las categorías de mejor montaje y mejor maquillaje.
