The transform… the movie

With the above in mind, Transformers: The Last Knight hits screens worldwide this week with a far-fetched story, nearly three hours of running time and all the benefits that an IMAX screen can offer to Michael Bay’s visual spectacle. The fifth installment of the saga revisits the story of the Transformers on Earth and their intervention at key moments in human history to end the extinction of the human race.

Sir Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins) is an old English historian who knows all about the first contact between mankind and the Transformers, dating back to the time of King Arthur and his round table. With the fractured relationship between humans and alien robots, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) has an extra workload trying to rescue as many Autobots as possible from the hands of the TRF (or FRT, the Transformers Reaction Force).

Despite the fact that the previous two paragraphs seemed to contain a lot of information about the movie, the reality is that we are barely talking about the first half hour in general terms. Transformers: The Last Knight runs just over two and a half hours, which leaves us with an enormous amount of events happening in parallel to end in an epic fight between Autobots, Decepticons, the U.S. military, U.K. forces and a dragon transformer that served King Arthur. It doesn’t sound bad, but the road to the fight is pretty complicated.
